“My name is Jasmine Edwards. I worked at IHOP in Evansville, Indiana. As you can see I got hurt at work. A lady hit me with a glass of milk and I had to get 8 stitches. My boss told me that I was fired and that my people didn’t know how to act. I didn’t do anything wrong, customers even said that I handled the situation very well. Anyway he fired me and another lady for standing up for me. This is not right and I ask that you Please Share-thanks”
This is so fucked up. Please share this photo.

"my people didn’t know how to act"
oh but we weren’t the ones assaulting ihop workers

Fuck Ihop and fuck racist assholes.

Sounds like this needs to go viral.

This makes me sick - my dad’s family lives in Evansville and I know that area has issues with racism/homophobia/etc, but this is the first time I’ve seen a specific instance on social media. Hope this goes viral and gets results!

Disney animator Heidi Gilbert recently put together this original animatic based on the Wicked musical in an attempt to see about having it done as an animated movie.

Top 400 Universities in the World | USN

The one I studied at is ranked #25 weeee

#259 represent, lol.

In what I would describe as the most perfect irony (irony?), Zain’s alma mater narrowly bests my own, Rutgers, which is on this list at #260. I love it.

26 & 31. Damn, way to slip down the list UCLA.

pleasantly surprised to find we came in at #73.

#104 for grad, didn’t even bother checking for undergrad because lol no.

#36 for law school, what what! #46 and #368 for undergrad. funnily enough, i feel like i had the best learning experience at #368.

#11 for law school! And #210 for undergrad, which is only disappointing because Purdue was ranked higher.

Iconic on Flickr.
I remember walking past this wall and seeing the side of a decaying building. Now it’s an impressive work of art. A group of large murals have been popping up along the High Line in recent weeks and they’re all very well done. This one is the most colourful that I’ve seen so far. It’s a much more pleasant image to look at rather than another billboard with an advertisement for something I have no interest in.

This is across the street from my old job!  Only the lower part was there before my job ended, but it sure looks great now.

“The education system is so geared toward fact drilling and rote memorization that students often exit with a head full of dates and formulas, but without the ability to constructively think.  Now, if we readjusted the testing and educational system to focus on critical reasoning rather than memorization, then even if we knew fewer facts off the top of our heads — we would be smarter overall.  We would take a step toward doubt – and a step toward thinking for ourselves.”
I bet teachers just LOVE when this guy raises his hand.

Judging by my partner, an AMAZING New York City public school teacher, I bet they certainly do.  However, there’s no sarcasm involved in my answer.

Somebody needs to hug it out.

This same graffiti is half a block from my office, and someone has added “…but we can still fuck” underneath it.
